This week, I had the opportunity to view Tyler Turett’s animation display titled, “Make Your Mark.” I was really excited to be able to see such art, since so far there has been nothing similar. I grew up watching animation and I was thrilled to be able to talk to someone who actually creates it. A lot of his work reminded me of stuff I’ve seen on Disney or Nickelodeon. He makes storyboards of his characters/art and is able to turn them into films.
Turett’s is not just an illustrator, but also create stop-motion sculptures and computer animation. He uses many different materials since he is able to create many different types of art. For computer animation, he uses Photoshop, Flash and After Affects.
Tyler actually got his inspiration from years of watching Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network as a kid. He is currently finishing up is last semester at CSULB. His dream is to one day work for Pixar-which seems accomplishable based on his talent.
